SECTION 1: WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION? When you purchase an item(s) from the JULY online store or sign up for a service operated by JULY, you may be required to provide personal information (including, but not limited to, name, address, telephone or age) that can be used to ascertain your identity. When you browse the site, JULY automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address to learn about your browser and operating system. With your permission, JULY may send you emails about the online store, new products and other updates. JULY uses Google Analytics to learn about who visits the site and what pages are being looked at.

SECTION 2: CONSENT. When you provide JULY with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, it is implied that you consent to its collection and use for that specific reason only. If JULY requires your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, you will either be asked directly for your expressed consent, or you will be provided with an opportunity to say no. If you would like to opt-out from having JULY collect your information in connection with products or services, please send an email to info@julyonline.co.za. Please note that if you delete, block or otherwise restrict cookies, or if you use a different computer or Internet browser, you may need to renew your opt-out choice. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some of JULY’s features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

SECTION 3: DISCLOSURE. JULY may disclose your personal information if required by law to do so or if you violate the Terms of Use.

SECTION 4: SHOPIFY. The JULY store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide the online e-commerce platform that allows JULY to sell products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. Payment: If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard and American Express. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by the JULY store and its service providers. For more insight, you may also want to read Shopify’s Terms of Service (www.shopify.com/legal/terms) or Privacy Statement (www.shopify.com/legal/privacy).

SECTION 5: THIRD-PARTY SERVICES. In general, third-party providers will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to JULY. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information JULY is required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the way your personal information will be handled by these providers. Once you leave the JULY site or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or the JULY website’s Terms of Use.

SECTION 6: SECURITY. JULY takes reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where JULY stores personal data. JULY restricts access to personal information to its employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information to process it on JULY’s behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and legal action criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
